Making aromatic vinegar at home

Aromatic vinegar can be easily prepared at home, used not only in cooking, but also for cosmetics.

Thus, you can prepare vinegar with :

basil

lavender

rosemary

parsley

sage

thyme

mint, etc.

As a basic, use apple cider vinegar as it is ideal for its more acceptable taste and smell.

What to do?
In a clean jar, sterilized, combine approx. 1/2 cup of fresh herbs per cup of vinegar for the flavor to be felt to a maximum level. Begin by placing the plant in the pot, after which you pour the vinegar. Cover the jar and let it sit for a week in a cool, dark place, shaking from time to time so that the flavors can mix well. After a week check if the smell if strong enough, if not leave it for a few more days.

Strain through a cheesecloth and store in a clean airtight double glass jar or bottle. The aromatic vinegar obtained will be stored either in a refrigerator or pantry and can be used within approx. 1 year.

Using aromatic vinegar:

In the kitchen, it is ideal either as a dressing for salads or in sauces.

In cosmetics, aromatic vinegar (lavender or rosemary, for example) can be used to rinse the hair after shampooing, and to revitalize the skin by an energizing massage. More details in my other articles:
